Vancouver/Pacific Starlight Dinner Train
My husband and I will be in Vancouver this summer with my parents. I thought they might enjoy the Pacific Starlight dinner train but I am curious about the attire. I read that it was mostly sportcoats with an occasional tux; their website requests "fine dining attire". We will not have a car for most of our trip so we are trying to limit luggage, consequently I am getting some flak from the menfolk about having to carry a suit along. On the other hand, we don't want to look out of place. Has anyone ever been ? How strictly do people comply with the requested dress code? Any advice or info would be appreciated. thanks

If you comply with the dress code you'll feel much more comfortable,it's NOT a T-Shirt and Jeans event. <BR>As a BC Rail employee I can tell you the staff appreciate people dressing up it gives the event a much classier 'tone'. <BR>If the man don't want to wear a suit then at least put on a pressed pair of trousers a dress shirt and a tie. <BR>Women can use their imagination with all the attire available you probably already own something just right. <BR>So many people come here and dress like slobs, esp those from the USA, I don't mean to offend anyone but it's true. <BR>The train ride if beautiful you'll never forget it esp. if the sun is shining.
