Toronto 360 Restaurant: Worth it?
We'll be in town over Labor day weekend. Is this restaurant worth our time and money? We're already planning for fun ethnic food the other nights and thought this might make a nice change. I've heard good food and super view, and avoid the ride up wait. And is it better at daylight or at night? Comments?

Have not eaten there since they redid the restaurant. Based on ratings and reviews, the consensus seems to be the food is decent but not great (ie if food is the #1 priority, there are better); great wine list and great view. Clearly avoiding the elevator line-ups is is added benefit. Day vs. Night - Choose day for long distance views and being able to identify buildings, sites, etc. Choose night for the "bright lights" and romance. Enjoy!!

Your presumptions are correct - good food and super view and avoid the ride up wait. Think that's worth it to you??? Whether it's better at daylight or at night depends upon whatever it may be that you would prefer. You could always get there at dusk and stay until after dark. What's your question, anyway? Obviously, you haven't learned yet that any worthwhile "experience" sticks with you long after you can recall what it cost.

If you're not sure the food is worth the cost you can always go for just drinks & hors d'oeurves. I would go when there is some light. If you want some alternative ideas: Panorama at the Manulife Centre (Bloor & Bay). It's the 52nd floor, has an outdoor patio, you can order just drinks, food, coffee & dessert, etc. Another spectacular view of the city is actually a place called The Docks. It's an interesting entertainment complex but what I liked was that we could sit outside on the patio next to the lake looking back at the city. We got there in time to see the sun set behind the buildings and then watched as the buildings started to light up for the night (What can I say except the food took forever to arrive but the million dollar view made up for it!) In the meantime boats were tying up to the docks, we could see the ferries crossing the lake, and we were loving every moment. I would not have traded our spot for an expensive seat at 360. We took Torontonians that couldn't believe what they had been missing all these years. (If you do go make sure you sit on the lake side of the building as it is quieter and there are just a few tables there.
