Suggestions for self catering house/apt with outdoor space in greater Toronto

Hi Fodorites, from May 24th - June 5th my husband and I need to be in Toronto for a specialized medical treatment. I mention this so it's clear that this stay is not meant as a holiday. Unfortunately we realized only after having booked both the treatment sessions as well as the flights, that part of the FIFA world championship soccer will be held in Toronto, starting on June 11th. Apparently this has some effect on accommodation in general and in particular on self catering options in the region. We are looking for a place with some outside space to relax in between treatments. Many of the places for rent are in basements or in high rise buildings.

We are not familiar with the local traffic situations etc. We have four treatment sessions planned in Etobicoke, Ont. They will all be starting on or after 10 am which is hopefully ok as far as rush hour traffic is concerned. It's a long shot, I know but perhaps some of you have some experience with places to stay in the greater Toronto area and are willing to give us some advice. Also suggestions for nice (no fast food) restaurants in the area of Etobicoke, Mississauga are most welcome. Thanks for your help!

You might have better luck in quieter Mississauga neighborhoods for a place with a yard, and yeah, after 10am traffic isn’t too bad but I’d still leave a buffer just in case.

Sorry I don't know of any suitable accommodation. I wonder if the clinic/hospital/doctor may have a list of suggestions. In a similar situation (but in the US), we were able to find lodging via the hospital. Good luck!
