Restaurants in Montreal

Restaurants in Montreal
Hi,
My SO and I are going to be in Montreal for a couple of days next week (Sunday to Tuesday), staying at Place D'Armes, and will probably just hang around the Old Montreal area visiting jazz festival sites.
We've been to Montreal several times but not recently and I'm looking for a couple of good lunch and dinner restaurant recs. We're looking for casual, mid-price places and especially like seafood and Italian. We're not 'foodies' and don't really care about tasting menus or famous chefs.
I know if's a touristy part of town but given that, can you recommend some places?

The jazzfest is centred on Place des Arts, on St-Catherine just west of St-Laurent. You can get schedules, maps etc. there. However that's not "Old Montreal" around Place d'Armes although you can walk. This is not quibbling; it makes a difference to planning your transportation. Downtown on Sq. Phillips is the Grande Comptior, a pretty authentic french bistro with outdoor tables. If you are willing to walk (or take a Metro to Sherbrooke), there are dozens of fun BYOB restaurants on and near Duluth and St. Denis.

We'll be walking everywhere so there's no issue with planning transportation. That said, I think I'd consider Place d'Armes Old Montreal. We usually stay at the Hotel Saint Sulpice and Place d'Armes is about a three minute walk from there (at least, that's what it says on google maps). Maybe there's some sort of Old Montreal 'border' but it's close enough for me. And thanks for the resto website. I'm going to make a note of that and we'll check it once we're there.

I've downloaded the jazz festival schedule for the days we're there and have already marked the ones we're interested in. We haven't done any planning for this trip except for the hotel so we'll only be going to the unticket events.

It just occurred to me that you meant the music, not the hotel, wasn't in old Montreal, so thanks for that heads up. We're going to walk up there today and wander around in the hordes of people and hear some music.
Re restaurants, we had a lovely lunch yesterday at Verse which we is the restaurant in the Hotel Nelligan and a good fish dinner at Zante at St-Laurent and Sherbrooke.
