PEI Anne of Green Gables itinerary
I will be in PEI this summer. I have been a lifelong fan, so it seems appropriate (and fun) to do a bookish adventure. Has anyone done any activities there? I see there is a show? Any feedback?

Here you go.
Anne of Green Gables /LM Montgomery Sites
Have the kids read or watched Anne of Green Gables if not you may want to explore the story by LM Montgomery. Both of my daughters were into the books when they were kids and loved visiting the various sites on the island. We think the original series in the 1980’s available via a library is the best TV version. https://www.anneofgreengables.com/
Great overview of the sites

1- Green Gables House in Cavendish - The house which "inspired" the book. The heritage centre was built and is operated by Parks Canada, there are staff on hand to answer any questions that you might have and you can tour the house green gables that was the focal point of the Anne of green gables stories and take a walk through the haunted wood.

2- Anne of Green Gables Museum in Park Corner - Where L.M. Montgomery was married, spent a lot of time with her cousins there, was the basis for "Silver Bush" from her novels "Pat of Silver Bush" and "Mistress Pat".

3- Montgomery Homestead in Cavendish - This is where L.M. Montgomery grew up. The house is no longer there, the grounds are beautiful. This is where she wrote her first four novels (including of course Anne of Green Gables)

4-L.M. Montgomery birthplace in New London - Where she was born. She did not stay there very long, after her mother died, her father moved West and she was sent to live with her grandparents at the Homestead (#3)

5- Lower Bedeque School - Very interesting old schoolhouse where L.M. Montgomery taught. It has been restored as a museum. It's now located across from the Callbeck Centre in Central Bedeque. The museum is not correctly placed on google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/LoHgm3YsZYQC74Rz5

6- Bideford Parsonage - L. M. Montgomery lived here for a year while she was teaching nearby. the Parsonage has been saved and restored by the community as a museum of life in the area in the late 19th century. Extremely interesting, even apart from the Montgomery connection.
