Notre Dame Evening Light Show

What exactly is the light show at Notre Dame at night? Is it worth seeing? Are the tickets expensive and do you need to get them in advance for a Saturday night or can you just show up? What time does it start and how long does it run?

Many thanks.

Did you intend to post this message on the Canadian Forum?
I think you'd be better of to post on the Europe Forum - good luck, Di

I've not seen the sound and light show at Notre Dame, but here's the website with all the details.

http://www.therewaslight.ca/

(My assumption, unlike that of di2315, is that you did mean the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal and were not thinking about Paris.)

Even by day, the cathedral is breathtaking inside. We were just there and did not take in the "Light Show" but it was described as "amazing".

I couldn't agree more about the fabulous interior of Notre Dame. I've seen many religious buildings in many places and this one is a real gem. Here's a website that gives a look:

We didn't catch the light show either, but don't miss Notre Dame de Montreal.

The light show is especially nice if you are interested in Canadian heritage. The purpose of our trip was to visit our ancestors farm originating in the 1660's. The light show is well done, I even bought the CD --- the music is magical. We bought tickets (it is not very expensive) to the show in the shop next to the cathedral (from the front steps). Be sure to have your camera ready after the show to snap some pictures -- they rather quickly remove the show setup for the next performance or for mass. The front altar is especially beautiful -- remember, it is a place of worship not a entertainment show.

Thank you for the responses. Yes, I meant Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal, not Notre Dame Paris.

Thanks for the info.
