niagara falls passes

Will be in Niagara falls from 7/22-7/25 with my husband, daugher (age 13) and niece (12). Have any of you purchased the Niagara Falls Great Gorge Adventure pass and was it worth it? Also, how is the IMAX? Any other "should see" suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

I believe the Maid of the Mist boat trip to the bottom of the falls is the best tourism attraction I've ever visited.

In Niagara on the Lake, the girls will probably enjoy a vist to the Tricia Romance art gallery, which is across the street from the park, at the "theatre" end of the main part of the main street.

And Niagara on the Lake fudge should be purchased. Buy small quanties of various types, rather than lots of only one type.

Didn't go on the Great Gorge Adventure, but another vote for Maid of the Mist. It was by far the best thing we did at the falls. We also went on the Journey Behind the Falls. It was OK - The observation point just below the falls is the best part (quite good actually), but the viewing portals behind the falls were not all that exciting. The "behind the falls" views were simply tunnels that ended as openings directly behind the falling water. This sounds cool, but essentially all you could see was a wall of white mist. The best part of the tunnels was hearing the roar of the water.

Once again, 2 big thumbs up for Maid of the Mist. Pretty cool.

The pass is worth it only if you plan to do all of those things included in the pass. We just did Maid of the Mist and Butterfly Conservatory, so didn't bother with the pass.

We were going to do the Behind the Falls thingy, but with reviews like Ken's, we opted not to.

Thanks for all your suggestions. One other question, how far is Niagara on the Lake from the falls?

Thanks, again

15-20 minute drive up a scenic parkway from Niagara-on-the-Lake to the Falls.

The IMAX sucks. Well not exactly, basically if you live in a medium-.... sized city you should have an IMAX theater, the movies they show are ok, but nothing tow orry over, and are usually shown in most IMAX theaters. The only IMAX theater i would ever recommend is the Sony one in New York City, but thats in New York.
