Maritime Advice?

I will have 7-10 days to spend in the Maritimes at the beginning of August. I will have a car and probably a bike. My interests are biking, hiking, and sightseeing. I'm interested in finding two or three places to stay for roughly 3 days apiece. From reading the forums, I'm interested in the Bay of Fundy and Cabot Trail. Other suggestions?

I'll be driving from Bangor, Maine. Should I go overland or take a ferry from Bar Harbor to Yarmouth?

Thanks.

can't help you there...i've been researching for campgrounds, not motels. but, if you have lots of money, the keltic lodge in cape breton is suppose to be great. the only other one i know of but have no idea what it's like is http://www.macleods.com/inn.html or http://www.macleods.com/beachvillage.html

You could camp at Fundy National Park...You also could check www.tourismnewbrunswick.ca for more information on hotels and suck. In the Alma area, there is a spot where you can go repelling, and rock climbing...I have seen it in the tourist guide. I am not sure for Maine, but in NB at all the Irving's there is a tourist guide to NB. You may want to try that.

I think what I would do it to drive up the coast and do a border crossing either in Calais/St. Stephan up up the fundy coast that way, or drive inland to Houlton/Woodstock, down through on the Trans Canada (actually I would recommend the scenic route and travel along the St. John river) through Fredericton (maybe stop a night, it is a beautiful city) then you can go towards Moncton and to Fundy Park that way. I would then drive to Cape Breton that way. I think then you could do your thing there (we stayed in a campground in Beddeck) and drive back down NS coast and to Yarmouth, then take the Ferry to maine.

oops, I should have spell checked, sorry about that. I missed the part that you wouldn't be camping. I am sure that there are lots of hotels in the Fundy Park area...Go on that website, they have hotels listed there. Also NS will have a website for thier tourism guide. Book early though
