Great thread, trying to plan our trip now. Will be in Lubec, Maine in July for wedding on wife's side and thinking of driving the long way to NS to visit distant relations on my side. Should be a change of scenery for us being that we are from Miami.

It is a good idea to begin your own thread to garner ideas from people here at Fodors. (then all you have to do is log-in and click right on it, vs scrolling through all the responses you might have made here over time)
I appreciate your taking the time to tell me what you think.
Alas, I do not know anything about the best places to camp in NS.
I do know that some of the coastal roads of NS might not be my favorites if I were the one pulling a trailer. (particularly some spots on the Atlantic coast between Canso and Halifax)
NOT that pulling a trailer wouldn't be just fine in those spots... just... the steady curves of the roads would (demand that I be a more attentive driver than perhaps I am when driving a sedan by itself).
Finally, walkswsmile, if you click on MY name, you can assemble the posts to which I've responded, many of which relate to Nova Scotia/Maritimes trips.
Not every idea comes to mind for every poster, so perhaps there are a few left-out in most spots.
