Layover in Toronto

Hi! My friend and I will be flying to London next month and we have a 7 hour layover in Toronto and would like to do something. Any suggestions? Like lunch? Or a really cool thing to do in the city? Thanks!

Theres not much time for you because the Toronto Airport is quite far from the City Centre... just the trip back and forth with traffic and security is an ordeal, plus the cost of transportation to and from is pricy... you may get others that encourage you, but I would get a book... you might catch a lunch in the Airport area....

Depending on the interests of you and your friend...

you could take a cab to the Woodbine race track, where there is slot machine gambling. (and depending on the time of year, horse racing.)

Do either of you have a serious hobby? You could go to some fine retailer of supplies for this hobby. Doll store, train store, camera store better than at home...

CN Tower? It's got a good mid-range restaurant, plus a fancy one, and is a short walk from the drop-off point of the express bus from the airport.

Just go for a ride on the Toronto subway, and then you can compare to London.

Timing; let's say you need to be at the airport 2.5 hours before your flight.

Assuming you arrive on time, that's leaves you about four hours. Depending on the time of day, that gets you downtown to the Hockey Hall of Fame or the Art Gallery of Ontario, two hours inside, and back to the airport with no worries.

Hey, thanks for the reply... I was thinking about the CN Tower, but wasn't sure if there was enough time to do it. But if there is, it'd be a nice way to spend the afternoon. You say there is a bus from the airport to the CN Tower (or a short walk from there). I'll have to look into that!

Fare is $20 each way, or $33 for a two ride (roundtrip) ticket.

For two people that's $40 one way or $66 round trip, still, I believe, less thana limo on the round trip rate.

info at www.TorontoAirportExpress.com

It's brochure recommends three hous at the airport before your flight.

Bus stops at the Royal Yor, on York Street. One block walk to Universiy avenue (werid curve, block is about te feet long) and then two blocks walk to CN Tower.
