I agree -- weather should be decent in late May and you will be a couple of weeks in front of the heaviest period for visitors, so it would seem like a great time to go. In addition to the two hotels suggested, you might also want to check out the Holiday Inn Harbourview, Dartmouth. There are some nice views of the Halifax waterfront from some of the rooms and it's easy to take the municipal ferry across, with the terminal just a quick walk down the hill.

Deb,you will love Halifax in May. I agree that the Holiday Inn in Dartmouth has great views of Halifax, however it wouldn't be my first choice. Although the ferry is cheap and reliable, the terminal is not the place to be at night(Datmouth side). If you decide to stay late in Halifax, you would need to take a taxi back. The Delta Barrington is in a great location of downtown as is the Prince George. The Sheraton hotel and Casino is ideal. The new Sheraton Four Points is in a less desired area.
Have a great trip!

Hello!

We're planning a trip to Halifax around May 12th. We're staying 2 nights on our way to PEI. Does anyone have opinions about Sterns Mansion B&B, The Waverly Inn, the carriage house at Knightswood Tourist Home, or Halliburton House Inn? We'll be traveling with our 2 yr old and 4 yrs old, so we'll be looking at the bigger rooms in these inns.

Thanks for any info!
