Ice hotel in February

My two teenaged daughters are headed off to Mexico on a missions trip during February break, so I've decided to take my husband and head north to the ice hotel outside Quebec City.
We have no interest in spending the night there, but have always wanted a tour of the place.
I really want to tour Quebec City someday as well, but am not sure whether this should be the time or not?
Is Quebec City beautiful anytime of the year, or should I wait until it warms up a bit?

Quebec City is beautiful at any time of the year, but VERY COLD in February. They do have an amazing Winter Carnival in the city Feb. 1-17. The Old City is the most attractive part of the area, with many B&B's the Chateau Frontenac and great restaurants.

We just returned from Quebec City and had an afternoon free so we went and saw the Ice Hotel which was about 30 mins. max from QC. It was fun to see and you have to have
a drink from their bar which is served in a cube of ice. There is an admission charge of about $15, and it was fairly crowded when we went-you can see the whole place in
about 20 mins. You shouldn't be that close to QC without touring it and staying there. It is a magnificent and charming city with wonderful hotels and fabulous restaurants, museums, etc... We go 3x a year and love each season. Feb. can be frigid, or just plain
cold. We have lucked out on many
ski trips and have had 20-35 degree
F. temps. When we returned home the other morning however, it was
15 below!!!! Also, the French Canadians are wonderfully warm and
elegant. Have fun!!!

My husband and I just arrived back from this trip to Quebec City this afternoon, and had a wonderful time! The Ice Hotel was my favorite part...so amazing!
We stayed at the Loews hotel in Quebec City, and loved our choice. We got it through Priceline for $97, which wasn't as cheap as I had hoped to get a four star for, but it was still a decent price. We did have to pay an extra $28 for valet parking, which I thought was pretty steep. The hotel overlooks the whole city, and has a revolving restaurant on top (which we didn't go to, unfortunately).
We basically checked into our hotel, and walked everywhere. The Chateau Frontenac was amazing, and we really liked the 30 second ride on a toboggan right near the Chateau! Definitely worth the $2 apiece.
We ate dinner at a great little restaurant called Anciens Canadiens. My husband had the meat pie that Quebec is famous for (he loved it), and I had chicken and veggies in a flaky pastry shell. We then topped off our dinner with maple sugar pie for dessert. It was very yummy!
We found the people in Quebec so friendly, and were amazed how everyone without exception, was bilingual. Put us to shame.
Anyway, it was a great time, and I can't wait to go back.
