Hyatt vs Sutton Place vs Four Seasons

Which of these hotels would you recommend for a 2 week stay in July? I want to be central to everything and in a 1st rate hotel.

T

You don't care about price? These are expensive places.

For two weeks, which involves coming and going from the hotel many times, and keeping amused, etc., Sutton Place is out.

It's in the middle of a neighborhood of residential buildings and government offices.

Park Hyatt and Four Seasons are across the street from each other, so get equal marks for location, which is the best location in the city for rich people who like to eat well.

Four Seasons day after day, week after week, month after month gets top marks all around the world for the quality of its hotels, and the toronto Four Seasons is the headquarters-cioty hotel. To my mind, it's the winner.

And you can just cross the street to the Hyatt when you want to change dining rooms or (and this is worth the walk) get a drink in the Hyatt's rooftop bar.

BAK

Tracy, I haven't stayed at the Park Hyatt but it seems to be getting some very good reviews lately. Do a search on this thread and I'm sure you will come up with some favourable comments.

I did stay at the Four Seasons last summer and as much as I like the Four Seasons I felt that the Toronto property was in need of an update. It does not live up to the quality of the other Four Seasons that I have stayed in. The room was starting to show wear and really was nothing special. I suggest the opposite of Brian, stay at the Hyatt and walk over to the Four Seasons for a change in dinning room.

Both are nice properties. The Four Seasons has just redone their bar and it's become quite trendy. The rest of the hotel is undergoing refurbishing (they're starting the lobby soon I think). I heard rooms have already been started. Make sure you ask. The Park Hyatt is newer and right across the street as Brian mentioned. They have the most magnificent day spa called Stillwater. I go there every few months for esthetic services. Sutton Place is not in a great location. It's surrounded by government buildings and is a stone's throw from one of the not nicer parts of Yonge Street. If Four Seasons and Park Hyatt are the caliber of property you're seeking you might want to look into the elegant and smaller boutique hotel in the same area The Windsor Arms. It's lovely (except the main dining room, which you likely wouldn't go to anyway). Have fun.

Hi Tracy,
I would definitely go with the Hyatt. It's head and shoulders above the Four Seasons in Toronto.
Have fun.
