Oh Hdm, I'm so so sorry, I wasn't paying attention and missed your post stating that Sept 11 was the start of Rosh Hashona. If you really don't mind, we'll go ahead with Sept 12.
Can you make it to the mini GTG in Aug?

LJ, certainly , we can make another date at the end of our evening..Good idea.

SO... then .. Wed, Sept 12 at the Hot House...
What time is good for everyone? I'm suggesting not before 6:30.

Again, my email is [email protected]

Look forward to seeing everyone.

No worries, I'll catch the next GTG and maybe I can make the mini. I'll check my calendar tomorrow.

yes, I think I can attend the mini GTG -- I have dinner plans on the 28th but otherwise the week of the 27th looks good. Do you have a specific date and place in mind?

hdm, that's great! We were actually waiting a couple of days to see whether anyone else could join us before setting a date and place but were thinking of the beginning of the week. That way people could possibly arrange to hook up with toedtoes again. Since Tuesday is out for you it looks like Monday will be the night.

As for place, downtown seems best for everyone. I've searched through the restaurants listings on toronto.com to find a place meeting all of our dietary restrictions. Movenpick at Yonge and Wellington would work well but we're open for suggestions.

Others are still very welcome to join us that evening!

Please contact me at [email protected]

The problem with Movenpick (which I think is now called Richview or something like that) is that it's a serve-yourself place and everytime I've gone there with friends, someone is always hopping up and down to get something. I'd vote for a place where we can be served.

What about Milestones in the Entertainment District? Il Fornello in the Queen's Quay Terminal Building is nice and maye we can get a table outside on the lake, but parking is pricey. It's accessible by TTC though, and I'd be glad to give people a lift there or drive them somewhere afterwards.

Other suggestions?

So, it's definitely Sept 12?
I LOVE Moovenpick, but HotHouse sounds good too.I'm pretty sure i'll be there.

tropicalkerry, I think we've agreed on the HotHouse on September 12 for the main GTG. Movenpick was a suggestion for a mini GTG the week of August 27 while toedtoes is in town. You're very welcome to come to that too if you'd like.

htm, thanks for your great suggestions! To prevent further confusion with the main event, contact me and I'll start a group email going with information about these three possibilities and any others so we can decide what works best for everyone.

Hdm - I'm glad you'll be able to make it to the mini-GTG!! And Moolyn and Kodi and SallyCanuck!!! And any others who might be able to make it.

Monday night will be great - it's my first night in Toronto, so it will get me in a Toronto state of mind for the rest of my visit.

Yes, definately Sept 12 at the Hot House. I'm suggesting 6:30 or 7 pm.
Please email me with RSVP and what time is good for you. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone.

Moolyn, I won't say more about the mini here...don't want to confuse the issue.. but the plan sounds good.

Hdm, I'm SO glad you can make it to the mini GTG. That's great.

Hi Kodi:
My husband and I have been posting on the European board for quite a few years and on the Asian one for three years. We are presently finishing up our time in China teaching but will be home and available anytime after the end of August.
We live in the Niagara area and would love to come in to meet some fellow Fodorites and talk travel.
regards,
Lynn

HI Robjame, yes it's still a go!
I am planning on posting a reminder closer to the date. But I know for sure our friend is coming from the east coast. I've just been in touch with him. And I know others have not forgotten.
Looking forward to seeing you.

Just came across this thread as well and am noting Sept 12th in my diary.

I work at Front and Bay so am in the vicinity.

Great idea. Thanks for organising.

Good thing we are having the mini GTG though. Not long now.
