Hotel at Casinorama - worth the price?
Again..not a big deal..going up for a concert..not into gambling at all...planning on staying overnight..for little Orillia, the price is more than I would pay in Montreal...so is it worth it..are the rooms and facilities nice??

Hope somebody can answer this, as we
are going to Orillia in October. I can't decide whether it is worth the
price or not either. They didnt seem
to want to negotiate when I called . The
price was set and that was it. Any opinions/suggestions??

Nope never been into the hotel. Seen it from the outside many times. Massive, impressive looking building. The website does not seem to list the prices. What have you been quoted? What price range are you looking for?
There are many other hotels nearby or in Orillia itself. Let me know what you are looking for & I'll try to help.

Days Inn is literally right across the road from Casino Rama. Internet promotional rates list it at $109 to $159 per night. www.daysinn.com
OR highlight & copy/paste this whole thing into your web browser. It will take you right to the ORILLIA Days Inn on Rama Road:
http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/contr...p;brandInfo=DI
Fern Resort (also right in same area of Casino Rama) $185 - $259 per night.
Best Western Couchiching Inn $99 - $125.00 per night
http://www.couchichinginn.on.ca/
This is also right on the road to Casino Rama & on the lake.
When in Orillia, be sure to browse some of the shops along the main street / downtown area. One of them that is quite interesting is "Mariposa Market".
Not sure how the fall colours will be by October this year. Some trees are already turning / turned now!!!
If you'll have a vehicle, take a drive towards Midland, Penetanguishene, Victoria Harbour (just a few miles away) which are all little villages right beside each other on the waterfront of Georgian Bay. This is in what is called "cottage country" area.
Orillia has Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe near it.
Orillia Opera House usually has some sort of concert scheduled. You might want to check that out if that interests you.
