Honeymoon to Niagara Falls

I am coming to Niagara Falls on the 29th of this month. I am wondering if there is anything "specific" that would be nice for us to do or see. I am also wondering about the SARS status in Niagara Falls, I've read there are some cases in Toronto and Ontario, but not being familiar with the area and understanding some things are Rumors, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with my questions.

Thank you,
Lori

Besides all the usual stuff in Niagara Falls (be sure to do the Maid of the Mist; also the Butterfly Conservatory is fun), I would recommend a drive on the Canadian side north along the river gorge to Niagara-on-the-Lake (20-30 minutes from NF). This is a charming town right at the mouth of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario. There are lots of shops/restaurants in the center of town. It's a very different atmosphere from NF and I would highly recommend spending a little bit of time there, especially if you have not been to this area before as it's really quite a gem! It would be a great place to go for a romantic dinner (I would recommend the restaurants at either the Pillar & Post or Queen's Landing ... you'll need to make reservations ahead). If the weather is warm there is also a high speed hydrojet boat ride out of NOTL that will go up the river gorge into the whirlpool rapids. It is really a lot of fun (and relatively safet), but you will get soaked and the water will be very cold so only do if it's warm out.

I have not heard any reports in local news or papers regarding SARS in Niagara Falls so I don't think you have to worry too much about that.

Have fun and congradulations on your upcoming wedding!

Definitely go on the whirlpool jet boat in NOTL - www.whirlpooljet.com. You need to book reservations and bring a change of clothes because you get soaked.
No there haven't been any cases of SARS in NF....it has been blown wasy ut of proportion (there are only some cases in the hospitals in Toronto, Ontario - Ontario is the province and TO is the city)

Go to a winery, Made of the Mist, Butterfly Conservatory and take a ride along the Niagara River Parkway.

The city puts on an illumination show (lighting up the falls with different colours) which is very beautiful, and often puts on fireworks as well throughout the summer. Your hotel should give you a tourist guide which probably has the schedule for these events. It is definitely worth heading down to the falls at night to see!
SARS is definitely not a concern - the local people joke about it because it is so blown out of proportion.
Have a great time!!
