I am trying to get some information on 2 hotels that my daughter and her soon to be husband are planning to visit in October. They are Le Manoir Richelieu and Le Montebello. They were originally going to France but cancelled it because of the ongoing situation here. Any help on dining or hotel info would be appreciated.

I presume you've already seen the Fairmont website about them at www.fairmont.com? <BR> <BR>Both are quite nice resorts. As they are both out in the country, away from large cities, I'm not sure what dining options there are beyond the resorts themselves. <BR> <BR>Regards, <BR> <BR>Mike

Thanks Mike, I have seen the Fairmont sites but they don't really give much info on the hotels (Pictures or dining choices). I have stayed at the Queen Elizabeth and also Frontenac and the Queen Elizabeth had exceptional dinging and Frontenac decent dining but lovely hotel and they of course are both Fairmont. Anyone else have any additional reports on Manoir Richelieu and Le Montebello? Stayed there, eaten there or elsewhere in the area? <BR>Thanks all.

I have also stayed at the Fairmont in Quebec City but I would think that they are all equally good elsewhere in Canada. I know it isn't an answer to the original question but at least gives somthing to think about. I am surprised you haven't heard from others on this since so many travel to Quebec.

I've actually stayed at the Chateau Montebello. It's built like an enormous log structure. It's quite nice, and has good but not fantastic dining. If your daughter and soon to be son-in-law like golf, the resort has a good golf course as well. It's located in a nice, but not spectacular locale. The leaves should be turning in October, which should make for nice drives in the area. <BR> <BR>I haven't been to the Manoir Richelieu, but my mom worked there during summers, when she was a university student a "few" years ago... She raved about it's locale, scenary, etc, which I expect hasn't changed all that much in the intervening years. I suspect it's much more scenic than Montebello. Thanks once again for the information, Mike. Haven't gotten much feed back on my original questions but then again I think people have been pretty preoccupied with the current events here in the US. I know Fairmont is a well-known and respected chain so I am optimistic on the quality of services and food there.

Hi Anncat. <BR> <BR>I've been to both hotels. Especially for a honeymoon, I would suggest Le Manoir Richelieu. It has been recently renovated, has a spa, casino, indoor and outdoor pools,and a grand dining-room with bay windows looking out at the St.Lawrence with violins playing in the background. IS there anything to visit in that area of the Le Manoir Richelieu? I prefer to go to Quebec City, but don't want to pay the $500 per night...at the Frontenac
