Halifax - fall colors?
How are the colors in Halifax/Nova Scotia? When do you expect peak colors to hit (or is it now?)
We will be on a cruise and will stop in Halifax on Oct 20th and will be doing the Lighthouse Route via car. Looking forward to visiting this beautiful area.
Thank you!

Here's an excerpt from this week's Leaf Watch (http://novascotia.com/season/fall/leaf.htm) posting for Halifax:
"Summer greens remain stubbornly attached to the landscape, but the colours have become more muted. A brownish-red tinge that began last week has continued to deepen, with local maples now showing touches of orange, yellow and red."
That's certainly how it looks from my office window, and the report for the Lighthouse Route is much the same--green with a few splashes of colour. Unless we get a killing frost coupled with really strong winds there should be lots of colour for you to see in two weeks time.
Nova Scotia does autumn very well. Have a great time.
