Grouse mountain - worth it?

Hi all,
We have two days in Vancouver and were wondering if it is worth the time and money to spend at Grouse Mountain. "We" includes 2 seniors (walking not one persons favorite thing), 2 middle age adults and 2 girls 12 & 14. Sure are lots of "2"'s in this post . Thanks.

Got a car?

This is a good place to be just at sunset, when downtown is glowing from the buildinglights, but the sky is bright enough to show the buildings themselves, too, and some detail on teh water.

Maybe it depends on the lighting. The day we were there it was hazy so the view, to us, was not worth the cost of getting up there (we didn't have a car). We could have done better things with our time.

If it's cloudy, hazy, or rainy, don't bother. If you have a car, then it's not worth it. Cypress Mountain would be better as you can drive up to the top of Cypress and there's a beautiful lookout about two thirds of the way up giving you almost the identical view, but for free.

With only 2 days in Vancouver, it is definitely not worth it.

I was really disappointed. - I got to go up for free because I had reservations for the restaurant ... and the shows there were ok (lumberjacks, bird's of prey etc) but I kept thinking I could have been doing something better.

Yes we do have a car. I wouldn't spend the money just for the view because I know there are other options for that. Plus we are cruising to Alaska just after our two days in Vancouver. I was drawn to Grouse Mtn. because of the shopping, shows and restaurants. Thank you all for your advice. I'm still open to opinions.

If that is what is drawing you to Grouse Mountain, fuggedaboutit. You are setting yourself up to be sorely disappointed.

If you want "shopping, shows and restaurant" you would do better at the Granville Island than you ever would at Grouse Mountain!

I too was swayed by their advertisements (it looked really good) ... trust me on this, if you only have 2 days you will be kicking yourself wasting it on Grouse Mountain!

Now I will go ahead and say that I really didn't enjoy Grouse Mountain at all and was annoyed at spending so much of our day on it. I kept wondering if we were missing something. The restaurant looked so unappealing, we didn't even want to eat there.

For whatever reason no one has ever been able to make a restaurant work there-decades slide by and it's still an expensive underwhelming dead end.b-(

I agree with what everyone said here. Do not go to the Grouse Mountain especially if you have only 2 days.
