GREAT Restaurant!

Spent this past weekend in Toronto, and had dinner Friday evening at Centro, on Yonge just north of Eglinton. One of the best meals I've ever had in that great town- the filet Rossini, pork tenderloin, and champagne risotto were outstanding. I'm surprised that I don't find this restaurant among Fodor's listings, for it should be. One of the best wine lists in Toronto, smart & elegant decor, friendly & professional service- very impressive for this finicky American! 5 stars!!

Glad you enjoyed Centro. In the same category, you may wish to try North 44, Susurs, Boba, Canoe, Zacutti (fusion Indian) on your next visit.

Jeff, glad you enjoyed Centro but for the locals in the know it is pretentious, overpriced and very overrated. It is now considered a has been hot spot but out of towners still flock there. It may not be in Fodors but it must be in someones guide book!

I am currently living in Toronto moved here in September and want to tell you about a restaurant that I would definately say that Centro Restaurant on Yonge street is one of the best all round dining and entertainment evenings that I have enjoyed in many years and suggest that if this restaurant is not listed online, it should be 10 out of10

Last time I ate at Centro, admittedly more than a year ago, it was excellent.

I told my hosts I did not intend to talk much, but was going to pay attention to the food, rather than the conversation, and it was a good decision.

the restaurant is on the west side of the street, facing away from the sunset, but just as my main course arrived the sun hit the building across the street, bounced into the restaurant, and illuminted my plate, but not the other plates at the table. I took this as a good omen.
