Gourmet Eats Around Niagar Falls and Lake
My husband and 2 children (5&8) will be traveling to Niagara Falls during August, any suggestions regarding: gourmet dinning with children (reservations), places to visit & discount coupons would be greate for attractions. Also, what & where is maple leaf village. How are the budget hotels: Super 8 & Days Inn, Ramada Coral? Thanks!

I don't know all the answers, but will be finding out, with a five year old, next week. maybe that's too late.
Hints:
In Niagara on the Lake, Fort George is a great attraction for kids, and has huge lawns, so they can run off some energy.
If either kid is a girl, make sure you see the Tricia Romance art gallery, which is just off the main street, across from the park at the theatre end of the main drag.
Go to the Butterfly Conservatory, run bythe Niagara PArks Commission, between Niagara on the lake and Niagara Falls.
We're going on the Maid of the Mist trip to the bottom of the falls; friends in NF a couple of weeks ago report long lines for tickets, so go early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
BAK

hi Wanda: Maple Leaf Village is now Casino Niagara not a place to bring your kids any longer. The Skylon Tower has gourmet dining with a view that will occupy the kids as does the Sheraton Brock dinning room with early bird specials and prime rib specials. Four brothers Italian is one of our favorites as far as good food (locals and tourist alike). Ramada Coral is a really good place but away from the falls, but a very fine family hotel with budget dining and good swimming facilities ect. Marineland is probably a good bet for a fun day out, you can take a picnic lunch in to save money or they have food kiosks. Another Dining idea would be the Old mill behind the Minolta tower. For fun there is planet hollywood near the casino. Mini golf at night is a good way to spend part of an evening and there are lots to choose from. The tunnels under the falls are also fun and less than the maid of the mist. Once your at your hotel there will be tons of discount coupons to get, there is also a large Tourist Ontario building off the Qew. Have a great visit, Karen

http://www.vintageinns.com/online/ will take you to the site run by the top hotel and restaurant group in Niagara on the lake, and there's restaurant information there.
Five year old kids are free on Maid of the Mist and at the Butterfly Conservatory, according to what I read on the web last night.
BAK
