Good Restaurant in Stratford ?

We are seeing a 2:00 matinee in Stratford and would like to have a nice dinner before heading back to Detroit. Any suggestions? We used to love Woolfy's but it's not there any more!

I haven't been to Stratford in years so I can't recommend a restaurant. But if you want fantastic chocolate, check our Rheo Thompson Candies. I understand they're still in downtown Stratford. If any of my friends or relatives go there, I always get them to pick me some Mint Chocolate Bark.

Maggi

I've eaten at Fellini's for lunch before a show and it was wonderful, as for their dinner menu I'm not really sure. It's a great Italian-style restaurant right down-town on the main street.

Thank for the replies! Does anybody know if Woolfy's at Wildwood (in St. Mary's) is the same Woolfy's that used to be just down the street from the Avon Theater a few years ago? It was our favorite!

There's a great little restaurant there but I can't remember its name or what street it is on. It has an orange facade and I think it has a hebrew name, there is also a bakery attached. Perhaps a local can provide the name.

We enjoy Rundles ta 9 Cobourg Street - very near the main theatre so it's quite convenient as well. "Fine" dining with quite a creative touch.

The best meal I ever had was in St. Marys - can't remember the name of the place but it was a nunnery before and it's a small hotel now. It was grey stone and up on a hill? The locals will know which place I mean that's how I found it. The price was a bit more reasonable and the food and service were amazing. For a really good expensive meal - I also really love The Church and The Belfry - absolutely gorgeous. I also ate at The Prune - it was good. I haven't been in a few years so my recommendations are dated. I would also agree about Fellini's - if you're looking for someplace close and reasonable.
Enjoy - Stratford is beautiful!

Woolfy's at Wildwood is indeed the same restaurant the owner is I believe his
first name is Chris Woolf and his wife.
If you don't want to drive that far out
(20 min) there are lots of wonderful
restaurants in Stratford - probably the
greatest selection for a city of its size. DOWN THE STREET is great - popular with the theatre crowd, if you like Thai try MENURI which is on Erie street, you can eat there or even better get take out and stroll down to the river - the prices are very reasonable almost a steal when you think of US vs CDN money. I also like
YORK STREET KITCHEN, BENTLEYS and the
restuarant called TAPUZ which is beside and owned by the same people as RAGENEAU
bakery - located on Wellington St. For
special meals, (meaning more expensive),
RUNDLES and THE OLDE PRUNE are probably at the top of the list. Reservations would be required especially on weekends. KEYSTONE ALLEY run by one of the former chefs/owner of the CHURCH restaurant is always good. Hope this helps some with your choice. Enjoy your
visit to our beautiful city.
