FOOD SHOPPING-TOFINO AND WHISTLER
Since we'll have condos in both places, we plan to prepare some of our meals. Are there large supermarkets in each town or should we buy supplies before we arrive? Are prices much higher in town, since these are resort areas?

No problem - especially in Whistler which has a permanent population of almost 10,000. I've never bought groceries in Tofino but I imagine it's relative isolation and small size, (less than 2,500 permanent residents), would result in higher grocerie prices but not so much that you'ld have to stock up a on most of your needs in advance

I was recently in Tofino for a day. It's a relatively small town and I all I saw was a fairly small mareket. But considering the distance out to Tofino and the fact that they do have a year round population, I would imagine that you can find enough groceries to get by for a few days.

We bought groceries in Tofino at a place called "Co-op". I remember seeing the Co-op store in other small towns on Vancouver Island. They're a small grocery store.

Whistler, like Gary said, has everything. Safeway, IGA, etc. All the main supermarkets are there - it's like staying in any other city.
