Ferry Timing

I have read the last 300 posts and many address this question but I still need to ask.Flight into Seattle lands at 9:20AM June 20th which is Friday. Ferry from Tsawwassen to Nanaimo is at 12:45PM. Including rental car pickup can we make it there by 12:15 for check in or just be mature and wait for the 3:15? I don't mind losing the $15 but do we risk having the 3:15 being fully booked?
Thanks
Maybe we should just go to Las Vegas to play the odds

The way I'm reading this is that you are planning to drive from Seattle to Tswassen and be there three hours after your flight lands. The question "are you nuts?" comes to mind. The drive itself is almost three hours and that doesn't take into account the border crossing which can take three minutes or three hours. I say go for the later ferry.

Rodi,

My husband and I have the same itinerary for June 25th (SeaTac->Tsawwassen->Nanaimo). We are allowing about 6+ hours for the drive. Why not reserve a spot on the 3:15 ferry? Since you don't mind losing the reservation fee, if you make the earlier connection, great; but if you miss it, you are guaranteed a spot on the next boat. This also gives you a bit more time to make the 12:45 sailing.

Also consider that you are not allowing for any airport delays, lost luggage, etc. We are flying from New York and have already been notifiy of one schedule change.

Hey guys. Vancouver has the number one rateed airport in N.A. and has flights to and from everywhere. So why are you flying into SeaTac if your ultimate destination is Vancouver/Victoria? The lower cost for rental cars and the trade off of no border hassle has to make it a no brainer.

Hi, GaryA.

Thanks for the suggestion. It would sure save us money and hassles, however, we have a meeting in Seattle and this is a pre-conference anniversary trip for us.
