Downtown Toronto- Can we walk from CN Tower to Harbourfront ?

Trying to figure out what other attraction we can do after the CN Tower in downtown Toronto without a car? We will have two 8 year old boys with us. Any wallking distance ideas? Thanks!

Yes, CN Tower to Harbourfront is a short walk. I think the name of the street on the south side at the base of the Tower is Rees Street, just follow that.

Checked, yes, it's Rees Street off Bremner Blvd. that leads to Queen's Quay and Harbourfront.

Your sons might enjoy the old Roundhouse - it's near the CN Tower and Rogers Centre - I think they have old trains there now.

Hi, the TTC (public transit system) is very good and offers a 'family day pass' which would be unlimited one day travel for all of you for $9 on weekends and holidays so that might help with your stay.

lucyp, A family bus pass for a day would be fabulous! How would we contact TTC to purchase a bus pass for a specific date? Might you have a phone number? (I feel more secure when I deal with issues out of my country to SPEAK to someone, as opposed to email.) Do you know where we would find schedule information?

Your help is very, very appreciated! I hope someone spoils you, too, today!

Hi, try looking on their website for route maps etc.
http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/

The pass includes busses, streetcars and the subway system. The passes are available from the ticket agent in any subway station. Enjoy your stay in Toronto.

The CN tower is right next to the Rogers Centre (formerly the Skydome). Are you going to take in a ballgame? There are often other events there too. Even a tour might interest the boys. It's www.rogerscentre.com.

At Harbourfront, the kids might be interested in taking a cruise (I think it's just an hour or two) on the tall ship. Or you can walk over to Bay Street and take the ferry over to Centre Island and the amusement park there.

Also check http://www.toronto.com/events. There's a kids' section in the middle of the page.

We just returned from a holiday in the Falls and Toronto. There are cruises at the Harbour that would be fun but what we took was also fun. The ferry is just $4.00 round trip to Center Island. Check out: http://www.toronto.com/attractions/listing/000-100-239 for what to do once on the island. I think eight year olds would really enjoy it. I think I saw on the map (posted just as you get off the ferry) that they even have canoe's for rent.

There's also Centreville on the island with rides for children. And a petting zoo.
