Casino de Montreal -couple of questions.

We will be there in Oct., looked online and dress code says business dress. Can hubby wear jacket and golf shirt? They don't know what he wears for business.

Nuances restaurant in the Casino-I have read that it good, is that so ? Price range? type of food? (French, I assume)

We will be at Springhill Suites Old Town - Will taxi there, approx. cost ?

Thanks (or Merci)

The casino has a dress code but it is fairly minimal (no jeans, shorts, etc). I believe that at Nuances you need a jacket but don't need a tie.

I had dinner there about a year and a half ago and it was fabulous - very quiet and romantic. You really forgot that you were even in a casino at all. The food was french but modern.

Here is the website which has the menus as well. It is expensive (some mains over $40) but on par with other restaurants in this price range.

I don't know about taxi costs.

The dress code for the casino has really loosened over the past few years. Jeans are now even acceptable as long as they arent faded or torn. Might finally eat at resturant this year after also hearing spectacular things despite being overly pricey. You will need a jacket however to eat there. The taxi from your spot should be close to $12-15 dollars canadian one way.

Yes there are other places but they are nowhere near as nice. You can find them on the casino's website through the link I posted earlier.

We've been to Montreal twice and to the casino a few times, and I must warn you the the casino is not where you will have much chance of having a little fun as far as winning some and losing some. Casinos, of course are in the business of winning, but this one grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. We are only slot players-and only do it 1-2 times a year. We just got back from Niagara Falls where we had a much better experience at the casino-not winning but at least played for more than 2 hours at one machine We only lost $8.00-which to us was a victory! Good luck in Montreal!
