Calgary for one day

We will be in Calgary one day before joining a tour of the Rockies.

Any suggestions to spend that day? I’ve looked a bit on line but so far nothing rings my bell right in town.

The largest city west of Chicago and north of Los Angeles...

and I can't think of must-see highlights within the city either.

I do love how the main roads are often "Trails"... and how considerably squished together much of the central city is.

I like the view from... near to the Saddledome back toward the middle of downtown.

When it's only one day, I think I would just hope to be staying somewhere central, and just roam around and explore the city.

(nothing says somebody needs to tell you of some random thing that will block hours of your day, and ultimately take away from what you might find/experience there)

We have brunch reservations at sky360 Calgary Tower on a Sunday.

Would you also get tickets to the top on line ahead of time? Do we need them after the view from the restaurant?
