Cabin Country

My family (Wife & 2 daughters) and I are planning a trip through Niagara Falls, a day in Toronto and perhaps a night in Cabin Country. Can anyone suggest a place to stay for a night. Might be a Saturday night. We are thinking of Labor Day weekend (9/4).
Thanks,
Ken Kabel
Cincinnati, Ohio

Ken, do you mean "Cottage Country"? That would be an hour or two north of Toronto. Orillia is a lovely little city. Lots of B&B's, but you should probably book ahead. Casino Rama is just 10 min. outside of Orillia.
Lots of lovely little shops in this town - especially Mariposa Market!

Ken, Go to Peterborough, which is about 2 hours north of Toronto for cottages in the area. Peterborough is a lovely town
(a city actually, but you still get the small feeling), lots of lovely old brick houses, a nice zoo with a neat horizontal rope swing the kids would love and cottages to rent within 1/2 hour or less. Peterborough has a web site, i'll locate it for you and write back on another reply, also check out Yahoo Canada, and Ontario Tourist. If you can spend more days, do so, cottage country and life is grrreat!
ken, i wrote you a reply but i don't see it posted, so will try again. for a pretty drive from toronto and into cottage country, go to peterborough, about 2 miles north of toronto, it's a pretty little town (actually a city) but a very cozy place in the residential neighborhoods, lots of lovely old brick homes, a fun zoo with a horizontal rope swing for the kids and rental cottages nearby, try to stay for more days if you can as cottage living is special. also go to the whetung indian arts and crafts lodge on curve lake to get eye opening looks at beautiful indian art, crafts, clothing at various prices from very reasonable to very, very pricey. have fun!
