Depends where you're staying on Hornby. Hornby runs the entire North-South of the downtown core. If you're near Georgia and Hornby, then it is walkable in around 15 minutes.

i believe most hotels on hornby are closer to the core of downtown. if a nice day not a bad walk, especially if you walk down robson street, otherwise you can walk to the skytrain at burrard and georgia or granville and georgia, then a 2 minute ride to gm place, get off at "stadium station". now to get to granville island if you are close to the south end of hornby, you can catch a boat ferry (about 3.00) and it will be on other side , about 5-10 minute ride, if that. or you can catch a bus on granville or burrard street called false creek which will take you there. if you don't mind to walk then no matter where are hornby it really isn't that far to walk to gm place. enjoy the game and go canucks go!

Hi,<BR>I live and have lived in Vancouver my whole life. what hotel are you staying at? Most likely you will be able to walk to the game. Best way to get to Granville Island would be to cab. Yes you can take the bus but cab is way easier, and cheap.<BR><BR>Linda

The best/easiest/most economical and all-round fun way to access Granville Island from your hotel is the walk South to the foot of Hornby, and catch either the GI Ferries http://www.granvilleislandferries.bc.ca/home.html or the Aquabus http://www.aquabus.ba.ca.<BR><BR> I see them all the time but I walk/cycle to GI so I can't remember which service leaves from where anyway they both have docks right at the Market.<BR><BR>Take the time to walk around GI-there is so much more to the place than just the crowded/overpriced market.<BR><BR>Side streets contain all kinds of interesting workshops/gallleries and stores as well as a lovely shady picnic spot few know about.<BR><BR>The best way to travel from the Ferry Terminal in Tswassen to Downtown is http://www.pacificcoach.com/ -it's also the best way to travel between Victoria and Vancouver without a car-flying notwithstanding.<BR><BR>A cab from the Bus Terminal to your hotel will be the easiest way to tarnsfer.<BR>

Most people don't realise how physically small Vancouver's downtown really is. You really don't need a cab unless you want to save time. The cab ride will take maybe 2 minutes and cost around $5-$8... whereas walking will only take about 15 minutes. And it's an incredibly safe walk through the main streets. GM Place is at the east end of both Dunsmuir St and Georgia St, and Hornby intersects both of those streets. The distance between Hornby and GM Place is about 9 blocks - but they're small blocks. Take a look at the downtown Vancouver map:<BR><BR>http://www.studyvec.com/hotels-vancouver/page2.html<BR><BR>You could also take the skytrain - the closest station to Hornby would be at either the "Burrard" station at the Burrard & Dunsmuir intersection, or the "Granville" station on Granville (north of Georgia). It'll cost you about $1.75 to $2.25 to take the skytrain. It'll be a 30 second ride to "Stadium" station - situated directly across the street from GM Place. <BR><BR>There's a little boat service called "AquaBus" that can get you to Granville Island for about $2 each way.<BR>http://www.aquabus.bc.ca/ is their website. They're actually located at the south foot of Hornby Street, so just walk down there and you'll see a little dock with a floating hut. That's the Aqua Bus. It departs every 5 minutes.<BR><BR>And from the ferry terminal - the best way? I'm sure there are buses there - just be sure to get onto a Vancouver bus that goes downtown. Any bus that goes downtown will be a short walk away from Hornby Street. Unfortunately the ferry terminal's located in Tsawwassen which is a 40 minute drive south of Vancouver. It'll be a bit of a drive. Other than that, cabs will be a bit on the expensive side ($40 from the ferry terminal to downtown wouldn't surprise me)... but there should definitely be shuttle buses to take you into Vancouver.

The easiest way to get from the ferry terminal to downtown Vancouver is to purchase a Pacific Coach Lines ticket on the ferry (there is a little kiosk). You will board the bus on the ferry (from a vehicle deck), and the bus will drive you off the ferry into downtown Vancouver. It will probably cost about $10. This will drop you at the bus terminal, and a taxi will run you about $5-8 to Hornby St. Alternatively, you can take the city bus from the terminal, which will take you from the terminal to the Ladner Bus loop where you will transfer to a downtown bus. This will cost $4. Just ask the driver when you board the bus.
