I believe I was talking about US Immigration guards but then again - listening to some of you guys - maybe I should be questioning my fellow Canadians and some American's ability to read beyond a few hot buttons.

Actually I'm really proud of the Canadian Jews who've sent messages strongly supporting Canadian multi-culturalism. I love being part of that mosaic as much as I love the fact that we are such a tolerant country and react very strongly against anything that hints of bigotry.

I'm sorry if my remarks appeared to portray me as a racist or bigot. I'm 59 years old and swear that I've never been accused of either things before. However I do tend to have strong opinions and while I'm always prepared to listen to the other side I still cannot understand how recognizing militant Islam as a major threat to our peace and security sets me up as a bigot. Frankly any religion or movement that sees it's role as threatening my way of life by use of violence is going to be my enemy. Is that wrong?

As a 3rd generation Arab-Canadian(my grandparents came from Syria in 1915),I only have to say how doubly proud to be part of this great tolearnt huge country of ours. The responses by my fellow jewish citizens were proof of howw tolerant this country is and hope will stay.As for Gary, all i can say as aChristian arab is that God forgive you and i hope this discussion changed at least part of your preconceptions
