Overexposed: A Granville Island Mystery (Granville Island Mysteries) (Paperback)

Just finished reading it. Pretty good book.
The hero is a commercial photographer living in a floating home on Granville Isaland, near the Granville Island Hotel. he finds a dead body on his patio, and the story goes from there.
Lots ofGranville Island content to the book... as far as I can tell, very accurate info.
You could read the book, and then trace the steps that Tom takes throughout the book.

Kill All the Lawyers
by William Deverell (Author)
Amazon has this one, too. Much / most of Deverell's work is set in Vancouver, but I can't be specific about other books.
This one is a book I have read. LAwyer / mystery story, and better written than Overexposed.
I happen to be a photographer, so enjoyed Overexposed a lot; I spend a fair bit of time woith lawyers (although rerely criminal lawyers) so enjoyed Deverell, too.
Again, lots of local geography worked into the story.

A lot of Douglas Coupland books take place in Vancouver (Life After God, Girlfriend in a Coma, etc). His own take on Vancouver "City of Glass" is somewhat amusing.
If you want to look at a historic look of Vancouver, Ethel Wilson's The Innocent Traveller will take you through Vancouver circa the early 1900's!

"The Concubine's Children" by Denise Chong.
The results of the author’s research into her maternal grandparents, who were immigrants from China. I found it tough to read, from the point of view that the protagonists’ lives were very harsh. However, the encouraging thing is that the generations of this family that have been born in Canada have integrated seamlessly into Canadian life.
The author is a sister of my next door neighbour.
