behaviour on a cruise when you think no one will know you
This is a message to Rude, Randy Roddy who is a Lawyer in Vancouver ( approx 50 yrs old with redish hair, freckles, receding hairline, about 170 lbs with fair skin. and who was on the Carnival cruise to the Mexican Riviera starting on December 2nd with a blond female of about 48 named Inger or something like that, with a South African accent.
Just because you think no one will know you is not a reason to behave in a manner that makes other people feel sick to their stomach. To make sure that everyone at a table knows that you have an erection, to stick your tongue into your girlfriend's ear at every opportunity and to grab at all parts of her anatomy is beyond a joke.
I sincerely hope that someone who reads this board knows who you are and tells you that everyone nick-named you Rude, rotten, randy Roddy and they thought that your behaviour was inappropriate to say the least.
Try a desert island next time - on your own!!

Well, what exactly can you expect from a lawyer, from any country?

In reality there are boorish people from many countries. Too bad that that you had to meet up with one from mine. Sincere apologies for that but most canadians are polite and kind and not at all like rude, randy roddie.

Truly, you should have just let this go but since you didn't and it bothered you, I will sincerely extend apologies for the 999,999,999 canadians who are not like rude, randy roddy.

Not much sympathy from me. You made the problem yours. What steps did you take to remove yourself from this situation and ensure enjoyment of your vacation?

Rather than continue to be a victim of any boorish behaviour, you could have left the table at the first instance of inappropriate behaviour, reported your reasons calmly with explicit detail and requested an immediate change of table. Cruise lines are experts in handling passengers who either left their social graces in their home port or tossed them overboard enroute.

My suspicions are you came back each evening to enjoy seeing just how outrageous this individual would become, and now are wallowing in indignance.

I think we should take a deep breath and remember that love is a precious thing. It may be blind and even lacking a bit of tact now and then, but I should think that two people in love would be a wonderful thing. Young people such as Randy and Inger are merely setting an example for the rest of us. It would be nice if some of my young escorts showed some life. It is called Carnival after all.

There were 3 other couple who were lovely and with whom I wished to associate with and it would have been cutting off my nose to spite my face if I had moved.
If I removed myself from every PIA that I encountered who knows where one would end up.
I am just hoping that RRR will find out what a jerk he was and hopefully confine his activities in the future to the appropriate place ( behind his bedroom door)
Age is neither years nor mileage. It is what is in the heart. I have had dates in their thirties who were old and stuffy. I went skiing with a young man in his late seventies , who, aside from being an excellent skier, was more youthful an vigourous than most men a third his age. I don't believe people should give up living and loving until after they are dead.
My opinions only for what they are worth.

Phillipa, who said it was ok for a Canadian to behave in a boorish manner? Most of the posts on this thread are from you after all.

And indeed, you did have some options, not the least of which would be to request to have him removed from your table or have the staff speak to him about his behavior.

You are obsessing. If this is the worst behavior you ever encounter on your travels, then consider yourself lucky. Believe me, I have seen much worse. But so what. The good outweighs the bad.

It is beginning to sound like you just simply have a problem with Canada. Get over it.
