Hey there...
We have a wedding to go to in Corner Brook mid-July.
We are two families travelling together... 4 adults and 4 kids... Ages 5 to 9.
We are not sure how to structure our itinerary...
Stay on the West Coast? Or start in St-John and finish in Corner Brook...
Any suggestions?
The other idea I have is the thought of renting an RV... but if we do that... we would need to stay on the West Coast as we would need to return the RV where we rented it...
Not sure if there are RV rental places close to Corner Brook.

We want to get a good feel of what there is to see in Newfoundland but at the same time it is a huge province and with 4 kids... we have to stay realistic...

With 7 days, you should stay on the West Coast--there's plenty to see and do there, starting with Gros Morne National Park and the Viking Settlement at l'Anse au Meadows.

I concur - stay on the West Coast. If you are going to rent a vehicle you should do that quickly as many times in July the supply is short.

And I also think, especially with 4 young children who won't appreciate long drives, that staying on the west coast is best for one week.
Are you flying in? To Deer Lake? I suspect renting an RV may be quite expensive, and as katrinasl says, rental vehicles of all kinds can be scarce in July. Also Gros Morne accommodations should be booked in advance for July & August.

nfldbeothuk -- do you think we need advance reservations the last two weeks of June?

For Gros Morne, I probably would make reservations, although June is less busy than July. There are a lot of accommodations in the park, but if you want to be in a specific town it can be safer to reserve.
And book the Western Brook tour (which I think is a must-see in the park) ahead of time, at least a couple of days ahead. Then you can have an idea about the weather, but you definitely don't want to go down to the parking area, much less walk to the pond, and find it's full.
