Best Australian Products that may be needed when traveling?
I know that was a dumb message title...but I couldn't think of anything witty! I want to buy detergent for doing hand laundry while on our trip... I prefer Woolite here in the US. Any other "must tries" while traveling? Help me out on this one!

My daughter has just flown from Australia to US. She was carrying a tube of laundry detergent in her luggage and this was taken from her. The explanation was that this can be mixed with something else to form a strong corrosive. You may prefer to wait until you get here and then buy some detergent.
Incidentally, as an emergency detergent, I have used hair shampoo.

Hi Moneygirl
Softly is a nice gentle handwashing liquid that is widely available in Australia. I used this all the time when I lived there. There are also some products using Eucalyptus oil that were just coming on the mainstream market when I left Australia that might be a nice change! Drink SA red wine at all times! Try the Tasmanian champagne and Adelaide Hills SAuvignon Blanc. If you are in SA or can get it anywhere else try Maggie Beers Pheasant Farm Pate. The cholocolate is great, Tim Tams are a life changing chocolate biscuit. Lemonade in Australia is sweet and fizzy and Ice Tea was only just coming into fashion when I left. Eat fish and shellfish. Morton Bay Bugs are great, they are shellfish, not insects. Sydney oysters in my opinion are the best in the world, beating Coffing BAy (South Australia - (SA)) oysters marginally. Unless you are from California, Sydney China Town is good. Melbournes Greek and Italian districts are good food areas. Enough for now, I am home sick.

Hi Moneygirl,
Just to confuse you more Tim Tams my very favorite... eat the whole pack in one go...they come in all sorts of flavours. Start off with the original pack..Chocolate Tim Tams.. then progress to chew chocolate & so on, by the time you are finished all the packs you will know which ones to take back home with you.
Enjoy
