Ha Bill! You succumbed!

Thanks for posting it. What a trip! I found your impression of Adelaide interesting, as I skipped it completely. Will have to keep it in mind to look into for next time.

This thread has kind of taken on a different life than intended, but it's been fun regardless!

Hi Mina,

I don't visit this forum as much as I used to and I don't post that much, never have really and not sure why. This is a good thread in that I see Liz F has responded and is now sharing her experience and advice to others. That is terrific news for this forum. I remeber reading the thread where Liz bowed out with great regret.

My wife and I have lived in many parts of Australia and travelled extensively. My job has seen us living in Taree (NSW mid north coast), Newcastle, Sydney, Bathurst, Melbourne, Brisbane and now Auckland, New Zealand. In our early 20's (1989) we both took 9 months off work and drove around Australia in a van, and yes, it took all of those 9 months. I'd like to think we have covered most of our beautifull and contrasting country. Added to that trips that we have always embarked on when living in different area's I think the only stretch we have not seen is the Port Augusta to Uluru turn off and we hope to do that one day as I would like to see Coober Pedy.

We have been to Europe a number of times and various Pacific Islands. We always want to do more but are resricted at present with two boys aged under 3. We are going to Fiji later this month as it is a great destination where kids are well catered for.

This has turned into a bit of a rave, unintended. I always use my e-mail address and have had people ask me questions directly.

Cheers
David
