Hi Melnq, Non-pareils look very similiar. In NSW, speckles are called freckles, here's a picture. They are dark chocolate disks topped with what we call "hundreds and thousands."

well, i'm taking out stuff from my suitcase. i ant to make it lighter! i'm finally leaving tomorrow god and AA willing to finally see, taste and feel for my self everything you have recommended many thanks to all of you!!! janine

Melnq, as per the picture Susan posted, freckles are small chocolate discs with multi-coloured hard candy. I've only ever seen them in milk chocolate, not dark. Allen's confectionery calls them Freckles, but local South Australian chocolatier Haighs calls them Speckles. I think Haighs is a superior tasting chocolate, but comes with a superior price too. Allen's confectionery is a good brand though.
