Verizon service in Australia and NZ

We will be traveling to Australia and New Zealand (south island) next month (September 2024). I am getting an international plan from Verizon for my husband and me. However, I am unclear whether our cell phones will work in Australia & New Zealand? According to Verizon's website, once we have the international plan, our phones will work. Does anyone have first hand experience with using Verizon in Australia and New Zealand? I realize if I am in a remote area, there may not be coverage. I am talking about using the phone for texting, internet connection, apps, etc. in a big city like Sydney, Melbourne, Queenstown NZ, etc. Thanks for any information!!

I've traveled to Australia and New Zealand and used Verizon's international plan without any issues. Your phones should work fine in big cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Queenstown for texting, internet, apps, etc. Coverage can be spotty in remote areas, but in major cities, you should have good service. Enjoy your trip!

Maybe you should post in another section like Travel Tips and Ideas? Or see if there are any forums on Verizon services where other people may have posted.
A quick Google says Verizon will work here as it uses local carriers. So I'd go with that and relax about it.
