Are you Vegan? My husband and daughter are "regular" vegetarian, and although I can't remember names of a few vegetarian places we found, they had no problems getting good vegetairian selections everywhere. Despite being meat lovers, chef there are quite accomodating.

When I lived in Brisbane quite a few years ago there was a good place called Squirrels. Squirrels Vegetarian Restaurant PH: 07 3856 0966...(new address) 184 Enoggera Road, Newmarket. I haven't eaten there in a while though and it appears that they have moved premises. Newmarket is on the north side of the river in Brisbane and about a 10 or 15 minute taxi ride from the city.

Like the previous poster said though I doubt you'll have any trouble finding food that suits. Most places have at least a few vegetarian meals on the menu.

When I lived in Sydney a couple of years ago there was a great, inexpensive vegan restaurant in Chinatown called "Bodhi." It was not in the main part of Chinatown, but just off George St, near (or perhaps on) Hays St and the new (newish) streetcar line there. In Glebe, a suburb about a fiteen minute walk west of Sydney Central Station, there was a restaurant called Iku, on Glebe Point Road. It specialised in Japanese food, all of which was vegan. Good luck!
