Tour in Adelaide

I plan to fly from Melbourne to Adelaide and arrive very early in the morning. We will stay in Adelaide / excursion for 3 days / 2 nights.

Can someone suggest should I stay 1N in adelaide downtown, then 1 N in Glenleg area? Or 2 nights in downtown will be fine. We plan to visit that Glenleg, Baroosa valley.

Besides, how long will it take to drive from Adelaide downtown to Baroosa Valley?

thx

Hi daisyho,
Either or both downtown Adelaide or North Adelaide will be fine.

It will take about 90 minutes to drive to the Barossa Valley.

Enjoy ..........

Glenelg is a suburb of Adelaide - about ten minutes or so from the CBD so you would probably be better to stay in the central area and go to Glenelg for lunch or dinner. I think there is a tram from the city to Glenelg.

I have further questions:

I need to decide whether I should stay 2 or 3 nights in Adelaide, what would u suggest?

Besides, what places I should visit in Adelaide? I heard people said about Baroosa Valley. Would u suggest we drive there or take a local tour? Which tour operator you recommend?

thx
Daisy

I would say only 2 nights in Adelaide. We found it pretty boring and actually took 1 of our days to tour the Barossa Valley. But that was us..it just depends on what your tastes are!

We took a group tour to Barossa, but I wouldn't recommend them. In fact I would stay away from them. It was Gray Line tours. The guide was not very informative.

I would recommend the Directors Studio for lodging. It was a nice reasonably priced place and within walking distance of the market shopping area.
