The Queenstown Duck

Has anyone ever done the 'Duck' tour of Queenstown?

This is the spiel:
'Hop on board our amphibious World War II vehicle and let our 'Wacky' knowledgeable staff take you on a 90 minute fun-filled tour showing you Queenstown from both land and water! All ages love this unique tour. 'Quack' through town, 'Splash' into lake Wakatipu and 'Waddle' through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.'

We are touring the South Island in September and my husband (army background) is VERY keen to do this tour but it seems expensive. $69.00 NZ each for 90 minutes.

Any reviews on this would be greatly appreciated.

Jenny

I haven't been to NZ yet (we're going in January) but I have been on a "Duck"! They are all over the "Wisconsin Dells" tourist town in my homestate. The Duck tours are fun, the vehicles are really unique, and I always recommend the tours to others. I didn't know of the Queenstown Duck tour, but will look into it. Do you have a website?
I know NZ$69 sounds like a lot, but unfortunately, that is relatively cheap compared to all of the other Queenstown tours!

Thanks Tim and Liz,

Judging by the grin on my husband, I don't think I'm going to have a choice on this one, but would like an opinion on someone, anyone, who may have done this.

If not, then hang around and somewhere at the end of October, you will see a trip report with MY impressions of The Queenstown Duck. :->

I did a "duck" trip in Sydney a couple of years ago and it was fun. Wear v.casual gear & engage your inner child.

Hi,

I haven't done a Duck in NZ, but have taken the Sydney tour - and it was lots of fun, I usually recommend it to clients as well.
