Tasmania itinerary - feedback please :-)
After some help from a Fodorite I have put together a rough 10 day itinerary of Tasmania. Anything can be changed, as all that is locked in is the flights. I'm concerned I have too much driving.
Arrive late on a Friday night
Day 1 (Sat) - Hobart - Salamanca market, Battery Point, look around Hobart
Day 2 - Hobart- Huon Valley day trip
Day 3 - Hobart - Pt Arthur day trip
Day 4 - Drive to Strahan via Russell Falls
Day 5 - Strahan - boat trip 9-3.
Day 6 - Strahan West Coast Wilderness train - 9-1, drive to cradle mountain
Day 7 - Cradle Mountain
Day 8 - Drive to Table Cape Tulip farm - overnight Burnie?
This leaves 2 full days before we fly out of Launceston on day 11. I'm not sure if we should try and get to Freyinet National Park or spend more time in the North / Launceston area, or have an extra day in Hobart at the beginning. Also not sure if the Air Walk at Tahune and the caves at Hastings are worthy of a day trip or not. Also not sure what else to see in the Huon Valley. I definitely want to go to the Tulip Farm!
Any thoughts are appreciated
Thanks

If you can fit Freycinet in, do it for at least three days. Walk Wineglass Bay and the Hazards, also go to the Friendly Beaches, which is a fairly secret location, but so beautiful it will rock your socks off.
I am surprised it isn't on the "ten best" list.

From Hobart, if you can add a day or two around the Port Arthur area, Freycinet is easy. You shouldn't miss it,, it's such a beautiful part of Tasmania.
We live on the mainland of Australia and often sail to Tasmania, so I am not trying to sell you anything, just giving a bit of information.
