Tasmania in October
traveling to hobart in october with wife and 2 other couples... we will have roughly 6 full days... what do you think of this itinerary?
day 1: hobart to port arthur
day 2: hobart to bruny island
day 3: hobart to wynyard (tulip festival), then to cradle mountain
day 4: free day (any suggestions?)
day 5: salamanca markets, mt. wellington
day 6: this will be a sunday and a late evening flight out (any suggestions?)

I think you had better look at a map for the distances between these places.
Hobart to Wynard is 320kms , Cradle mountian to Hobart is 305 kms and these are not freeway drives.
You'l b espending all th etime in th ecar .
BTW the Tulip festival sounds lovely .

Agree that distances you want to cover will take longer than you think and certainly longer than Google Maps will tell you. You'll need to stop and eat, use the loo, check the map, turn back because you've missed the turn....etc..
I would avoid driving in the dusk or at night, that's when wildlife is usually out and about. If you do hit an animal, there are often volunteer wildlife carers in areas with lots of native animals.
