Hmpf! I suppose you'll start from your place, jog down the hill & claim line honours while I'm doing a "Cliffy" & shuffling up Heartbreak Hill?!

Well I WALKED down the hill and WATCHED the race! An 86 year old friend of mine was at Bondi at 11:30 which was the exact time he said he would arrive! Amazing guy especially as he had a prostate operation only about a month ago. Put me to shame.

Friends lived in that block of flats on the corner near the Rosé Bay Police Station & used to have a champagne brunch every year.

My contribution was to cheer on the passers by & reflect that most of my friends & nieces/ nephews had dragged their heels going up Heartbreak Hill to the centres of incarceration on the left & right on Sunday nights after weekends out.

The very idea of running up there on a Sunday morning was ludicrous!

On another note, very sad to see a 27 year old chap had a heart attack & died during the race.

What an amazing 86 year old! But that is so sad about the young man.

A friend posted on FB the start and end of the race. It looked like a beautiful day, and lots of happy people.
