Sydney, Australia

My husband and I will be visiting Sydney in March 1999. We will be staying at the Sydney Marriott on College Street. Has anyone stayed there? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Sydney Mariott is a nice comfortable hotel on the edge of the Sydney shopping district - certainly within walking distance to the main shops and on the edge of Oxford street which has shops aimed at the trendy/gay community. It is not the best hotel by a long way but it is a fine place to stay and is in line with the standard of most Mariott hotels world wide. Views are ok and mostly of the city.

Michael:
Thank you for your comments on the Marriot. I had gotten the same info from travel books and the internet about the hotel and location. We have decided to change our reservations to the Renaissance Hotel on Pitt. It will be closer to the sights we want to see. We are anxious for March to get here!
Thanks again, Pat.

Pat:
I stayed at the Renaissance in '97. It is a very nice hotel with excellent service and conveniently located to just about everything. Have a wonderful trip.

Pat,
The Renaissance is a much better choice, close to the harbour, close to major transport. You have picked a great month to come as the heat is just starting to come off our summer (Feb tends to be our hottest month),
Rgds
Michael
