Stay away from Tahiti La Ora by Sofitel

I had a reservation for this lodge 7/2-7/3/20. The country is closed and the lodge is closed. However, since it was a nonrefundable stay, they refused to give me my money back even though they could not provide the service. I booked through Hotels.com and it took 45 minutes, a lot of which was pond hold, speaking to 2 people and 3 refusals to accept no for an answer before I got a refund. Hotels.com and the lodge were nightmares. Beware.

I'd think your beef would be with Hotels.com . . . they were your 'booking agent'.

I did go through Hotels.com. Their policy is that it is up to the hotel to determine whether to give a refund. They would only talk to the lodge, but it was up to Tahiti La Orca to make the final decision.
