Thanks for the nice comments. I'm now in gorgeous Kauai and working on my New Zealand pix & trip report! This is a full time job!
Melnq8: We were actually talking about including Perth on the next trip--probably about 16 months away--unless I retire by then, and refuse to leave Kauai ;-).

Great photos Songdoc - making me "homesick" for the lovely Gold Coast hinterland and SE Queensland, which we missed on our last trip Down Under. (I have in-laws on the Gold Coast.) Also recognized several wonderful places we visited in Victoria last Nov - obviously the Twelve Apostles, but also lesser known spots like Griffith Island (Port Fairy), The Crags and the Grampians. We're talking about Perth and WA on our next trip too.

Just don't come in summer Songdoc, unless you like to sizzle.
Best time to visit WA is April-May and Sept-Nov (wildflower season, which is a pretty big deal here). June-Aug is cold and wet (well, so the Aussies tell me - I have much thicker blood apparently) and Dec-March is hideous - way too hot and often humid. UGH.
