Queenstown/Te Anau Farmstays?

We're off to New Zealand in two weeks, and would love to stay at a nice sheep farm near Queenstown, or Te Anau for a couple of days.
Any suggestions?

Elaine you might want to try posting this message on the New Zealand page. Have a nice day. Joan

Elaine,
You may like to visit a couple of on-line accommodation guides:
http://www.friars.co.nz or
http://www.holdsworths.co.nz

BTW, as far as I know, this is the nearest Fodors come to a New Zealand page.

Jo

Elaine,

We stayed at a pretty nice 900-acre sheep farm near Te Anau called "Crown Lea." The hosts were Florence and John Pine. You can email them at: [email protected] . I found photos of the farm and some information on a website for Fiordland or Te Anau. Good luck. Barbara

Thanks, Barbara,

I have actually just been in touch with Florence by e-mail. I found Crownlea on the Look Smart Australia site. It does look nice, and I am delighted to get a recommendation from someone who has been there. How long did you stay? Did you take the Milford Sound Cruise from there?

Jo,

Thanks for the two on-line accommodation sites. I had never heard of Holdsworths before.
