perth or wollongong
Hi,
I have a serious issue ib selecting australian universities. At the moment i am with both the offers from university of wollongong and myrdoche unuversity of perth.
Bt i hv the folkowing questions.
1. What is the best unuversity for a business degree?
2. What city has less cost of living?
3. What is the best city to live a quality and calm life?
4. Which city has high avaliability of jobs?
5. Which universitys' degree is more acceprable?
6. Finally which city is good for a student?
Luking for some guidance

I can't answer most of your questions, but I can tell you that Perth is very expensive. It's a nice place to live, with lots on offer and plenty of jobs (if you believe the media), but prices are very high, and lodging is scarce due to the mining boom.

I can only comment on Wollongong. Two sons loved their time at this uni and enjoyed Wollongong and its environs. It is not as large as Perth, is easy to get around and I don't think it is as expensive as Perth

Step daughter and son in law went to Uni of Wollongong and both graduated in the last 1 or 2 years. They lived with another couple in a brand new beachside 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment by the beach. Not bad for student digs!
I don't really know all your questions however one with a business and engineering degree got a job instantly and the other has started her own business.

Perth is a very expensive city. I think your lifestyle would be better in Wollongong, which is a more inexpensive setting. Can't comment on comparisons between Murdoch and Wollongong in terms of degrees as I don't know Murdoch, neither is a top tier university although Wollongong has won prizes for best small university more than once in the past. Wollongong is also next to some very good beaches, and Sydney is only a hour away by train. The university is close to the train network, so you could travel easily. My vote is Wollongong.

In terms of university rankings, Wollongong University is usually much higher up the lists than Murdoch. This link shows just two measures, one based on research and the other is the Times Higher Education rankings.

For business schools in particular, follow the links on the left.
