Overnight in Kuranda?
We are headed up to the Daintree for three days, and arrive at the airport around 10:30 a.m. Does not make sense to hurry up and go up and down in one afternoon versus taking the sky rail up, spending the night and then taking the train back down the next morning en route to Daintree Wilderness Lodge. Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated.

Try Kuranda B&B if overnighting. http://users.tpg.com.au/users/ausavsup/ However be aware that Kuranda is a tourist trap which closes its doors and rolls up the pavement about 3pm.

Just read you go to Port Douglas to avoid the tourist trap but PD is even a bigger one. Do look at the places off the track a bit like cedar park and countless others as way better than touristville. Better experiences like random animal encounters, better food, better value..just better, better, better.

thanks for the suggestion. As it turns out, the train connection did not work out, so we on our original plan to go to Daintree Wilderness Lodge the first three days, then back to Cairns, drop the car, and we are staying near the Cairns train station in order to catch the first train out, spend a few hours in Kuranda, take the skyrail back down and board our cruise ship by 4:00. Ironically, I had decided on Cedar Park had we stayed in Kuranda.
