We had almost planned for west coast, but majority of travelers insist on sydney and east coast. Please suggest if we should go for west coast or east coast of Australia. We will be driving a rental car and do not mind driving. We WANT to see kangaroos and koalas and other wild life and would want to do some great adventures.
Welcome to Fodor's -- I suggest you start your own new thread as you will get more responses that way. To your question -- check out Tasmania.

When do you plan to go, and do you realize the borders are probably closed due to COVID until next year at the earliest?

Yes - I also suggest you start your own thread - rather than tack something on to the end of someone else's trip report, which is bad form, and not really useful.
